At Nemacolin Wooflands Pet Resort & Spa, we use dog-friendly techniques, including positive reinforcement training. All training is individualized based on breed, age and temperament. There is no one size fits all approach.
Because dogs are social animals, they have an inherent desire to belong and be a part of our lifestyles in an active way, often making undesirable choices in behavior. Although some dogs may deliberately disobey, most dogs have never learned clearly what you want from them. They act in ways that may not be socially acceptable in the world in which they live. In reality, dogs learn very quickly. When something works once for them, they try it again. The goal is to help the dog learn the right behaviors and leave the wrong ones behind them.
Our dog training system is designed to do three things:
- Teach dogs to listen to your verbal commands through a positive approach
- Teach you how to maintain a dog’s positive behaviors, and even improve more over time
- Ensure that the training “sticks” through ongoing support and coaching
